What is Prayer?
Prayer is talking to God, simple as that. Prayer is also a way of building up a friendship with God. Just like to talk to your friends at school and tell them things, then you can talk to God in the same way. Prayer is powerful and amazing things can happen when you ask God for something. In the Bible there is a verse that says "When a good person prays great things happen" - Read that in the Bible in the book of James Chapter 5 verse 16.
How do you pray?
Praying, as it says earlier, is just like talking to a friend, but you are talking to someone even more wonderful than them - God. You can talk out loud, or quietly, or in your head. God hears all prayers. You can talk to God anywhere - in the bath, in bed, in church, walking to school, in the car, in fact anywhere and at anytime!
You can pray on your own or with friends. We say prayers in Church, at Light Factory, at CGBC, at XLR8 and Ignite. You can join in with them if you like!
